Streakers

Your 2012 Red Sox, so far:

- Three straight losses
- One win
- Two straight losses
- Three straight wins
- Five straight losses
- Five straight wins

(Thanks, Yahoo, for making the counting easy.)

The win trend is positive (one, then three, then five), so there's that. Maybe they'll make it six.

Tonight's game is Chicago's best chance to tackle the Sox, with 3-0, 1.88 ERA Jake Peavy headed to the mound. Jon Lester will look to return to form. He's 0-2, but his first two starts were good.

By the way, in roughly 22 innings each, both Bard and Doubront are pitching better than Buchholz. It's too soon to think about shuffling the rotation, but Clay has to find his rhythm.

Holy crap, Josh Hamilton has nine home runs. Cody Ross leads the Sox with five. In several offensive categories, you'll notice, young go-getters David Ortiz and Derek Jeter lead the pack.

Weird year, so far. But they all are in their way.

PS. Who's that guy calling?
