Pedroia Named AL Player of the Month

MLB.com
Boston Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia was named Budweiser Presents American League Player of the Month for July.

Pedroia received the award after hitting .411 (46-for-112) with eight home runs, 22 RBIs, 27 runs scored, nine doubles and one triple in July. It is the first Player of the Month Award of Pedroia's career, and the second straight presented to a Red Sox player. Adrian Gonzalez was June's recipient of the award.

Among all eligible players (minimum 84 plate appearances), the 2008 Most Valuable Player and three-time All-Star ended the month tops in batting average, hits, slugging pecentage (.465), and was second in home runs and sixth in RBIs.
So Gonzo takes June and Pedroia July. Would love to see Carl Crawford win Player of the Month for August.
