Standoff at the Garza Corral

Let me summarize a number of stories I've seen on Matt Garza.

- Several teams are interested, with the Red Sox being pretty much on the outside but not saying no. The Yankees have been cool but have inched closer to the heat.

- Everyone thinks the price is too high. "The moon," one source said. The Yankees are "desperate" but not biting.

The solution seems rather obvious to me. Keep Garza, and let the market develop for next year. It's clearly a win for the Cubs, who are trying to build a team: give Garza a year to prove he's worth the moon (which he has not, yet). Garza seems competitive enough to relish that chance.

Too simple?
