Cook Could Be Headed to Bullpen

Michael Vega writes in the Globe:
Asked if Cook, who has compiled a 3-0 record with a 1.89 ERA in five minor league starts with the PawSox this season, has been receptive to the thought of becoming a reliever, Valentine replied: "I haven’t talked to him. I can’t speak for him.''

So would that be the plan for him?

"If he came here, yes,'' Valentine said.
We don't know if Cook will be called up, but today is the deadline.

Valentine's comments must have been welcome news for Clay Buchholz, who has yet to find his rhythm. Personally I think it's no big deal either way -- a visit to AAA would not be the end of Clay's career, and it might help. The story is being a little overblown. But what isn't, in this town?
