It Counts! But Shouldn't

As I write, the NL is out to a big lead in the All-Star Game.

Having the All-Star Game determine home field advantage in the World Series is:

- Fundamentally unfair.
- Unnecessary. The game is supposed to be fun, not meaningful.
- If it endures, one of the worst aspects of Bud Selig's legacy.

On the bright side, David Ortiz is 1-for-2 with a single after six innings. I hope he's not meeting with other teams while he's there.

UPDATE: NL wins 8-0. I suppose it would be funny if the Nats had home field advantage over the Yankees. But the prior system of alternating years made much more sense.
