From Laugher To Nailbiter To Just Plain Ugly

Twenty-seven runs, thirty-eight hits, eight walks, and a trio of errors. Your typical late August game between two teams not going anywhere once the regular season comes to a close. The Red Sox blew a 6-0 lead , then came from behind to take a 2-run lead going into the top of the 9th, allowed the Angels to take a 12-11 lead, only to tie it in the bottom of the 9th on a Cody Ross home run at Fenway Park. The Angels added two more in the top of the 10th which ultimately sent the Red Sox to a 14-13 loss.

Franklin Morales started for the Red Sox but despite having a 6-run lead he couldn't get out of the 3rd inning. Meanwhile, Angels starter C.J. Wilson struggled through 5 innings allowing 7 runs (6 earned) on 8 hits Alfredo Aceves not only blew a save but suffered the loss as well.

The Boston offense included 4-hit games from Pedro Ciriaco, and Dustin Pedroia; Jacoby Ellsbury had three hits. Pedroia, Mike Aviles (pictured) and Cody Ross all hit home runs for the Sox.
