Will Middlebrooks avoids serious injury
Well, that was a stress-induced couple of hours, wasn't it? After leaving last night's game with pain in his right wrist after an awkward swing, Will Middlebrooks seems to have sidestepped anything major. The Globe's Peter Abraham is the bearer of good news on this one:
Farrell said @middlebrooks saw a specialist and is fine. Could play tomorrow. #RedSoxThe Red Sox official Twitter account confirmed:

Farrell on Middlebrooks: He's been cleared for baseball activities today. Could play tomorrow. #RedSoxST13While it's good news that Middlebrooks won't miss time, and may even play tomorrow, you still have to wonder if this will be a reoccurring issue all season. We're notably thin at third base, so let's hope this is the last we hear of any wrist issues.
