The Red Sox announced after the game that outfielder Jackie Bradley Jr. has been called up from Triple-A Pawtucket.

Bradley, the Red Sox second ranked prospect, started the year with the big club after a great spring in which he hit .435. However, Bradley was sent back to Pawtucket after hitting just .097 in 12 games.

Since being sent down, Bradley (after a short DL stint with bicep tendonitis) has hit .360 with six doubles, a triple, two home runs, nine RBI,  a .461 OBP, .547 SLG and a 1.007 OPS.

With the Red Sox traveling to Philadelphia for interleague games Wednesday and Thursday they may need an extra pinch-hitter rather then 13 pitchers. Bradley has been playing all three outfield positions for Pawtucket.

To make room for Bradley the Red Sox optioned Alex Wilson back to Pawtucket. Wilson was 1-0 with a 2.50 ERA in 16 appearances.
