The Red Sox have had an alright week currently with a record of 3-3 and 1 game left to play against the Yankees tonight. The Red Sox won 1 game at home and 1 game in Philadelphia in their 4 game home and home series and then split the first 2 games against the Yankees. Tonight is the rubber game with the Yankees and the Red Sox have Buchholz throwing for them. This next week the Red Sox return home for a 6 game home stand with 3 games against the Rangers and then 3 against the Angels.
Monday: Rest day
The Red Sox will get a much needed rest day, it is a short travel for the team as they return from New York. This will be a great chance for the Sox to rest up and get ready for the week ahead.
Tuesday: Justin Grimm vs Ryan Dempster
Grimm has performed well of late for Texas, he has won his last 3 starts and has a record of 5-3. He is 2-2 on the season when on the road with a 4.94 ERA. Dempster has pitched much better than his record shows, currently 2-6. May was not a good month for Dempster with a 5.51 ERA. The game is on NESN at 7:10
Wednesday: Derek Holland vs John Lackey
Holland currently is on a hot streak, he is 4-0 in his last 5 starts with the the beginning of that being a 7-0 victory over the Red Sox. Lackey is becoming better but is still allowing big hits. He is 3-5 on the year with a 2.96 ERA. The game starts at 7:10 on NESN and ESPN2.
Thursday: TBA vs Jon Lester.
The Rangers have not yet announced their starter for this game while the Red Sox have announced that Jon Lester will get the start. Lester may have not been as dominant as lately but he is still pitching well when he is in command of his fastball. When Lester walks less than 3 opponents the Sox are 7-1 on the season. The game is on NESN at 7:10.
Friday: TBA vs TBA
Neither the Red Sox or Angels have announced thier starters for these games. The game will be on NESN at 7:10.

With the Red Sox ending the week in first place in the AL East no matter the outcome of tonight's game this next week is very important. The rangers and Angels are two of the best teams in the West and the Red Sox need to prove that they can win against them in order to be one of the best teams in the American League.
