With the ALCS tied 1-1, great starting pitching performances from the Tigers and dramatic comebacks from the Red Sox, the series got some added juice Monday courtesy of today's Game 3 starter Justin Verlander.
Shane Victorino led the league this season in hit-by-pitches with 18 during the regular season and he has been hit five times in seven playoff games this year, a MLB record.
Verlander said there are times that Victorino is getting "hit by strikes." Victorino countered by saying jumping "in front of a 95 mph fastball" is not "what I'm trying to do."
After Monday's back and forth between Verlander and Victorino, it should be interesting to see how things get handled where it counts - between the white lines.
