Five Tigers pitchers combine to limit the Red Sox to just 3 hits as Detroit beat Boston 1-0 at Fenway Park.
Detroit got on the board in the top of the 1st inning on a pair of walks and a base hit allowed by Boston starting pitcher Jon Lester who lasted just 5 innings thanks in part to a 47-minute rain delay in the top of the 4th inning. Lester allowed just 1 run on 4 hits while walking 3 and striking out 7.
Max Scherzer pitched into the 7th inning allowing just 3 hits; he walked 4 and struck out 7.
