Rubby De La Rosa found his 2nd outing this season to be far different from his 1st. A pair of home runs off him in the 5th inning helped punctuate the Red Sox 6-2 loss to the Tigers at Comerica Park.
De La Rosa allowed 4 Detroit runs on 9 hits and a pair of walks over 5.2 innings while striking out 5.
Boston scored first on an RBI double by Xander Bogaerts in the top of the 1st inning that scored Brock Holt. The only other Red Sox run scored on a sacrifice fly by Jonny Gomes in the top of the 6th.
The loss was the 4th in a row for Boston; Detroit ended a 5-game losing streak.
