MLB columnist for Yahoo Sports Jeff Passan is reporting that former Red Sox pitcher Alfredo Aceves, currently at the AAA minor league level in the Yankees organization has been suspended for 50 games for a positive test for a "drug of abuse."

It's not clear at this time what the substance is.

Aceves pitched for the Red Sox from 2011 to 2013. He was most recently with the Yankees before being designated for assignment last month. He accepted a minor league assignment and was with AAA Scranton.
