Add Yoan Moncada to the Red Sox list of Cuban imports. According to NESN, the Sox have landed the Cuban prospect in a deal worth $30 million. He's a switch hitter, and played mostly 2nd base in Cuba, but reportedly can also play 3rd base and outfield according to NESN.

Moncada's talent is apparent, but how he fits into the Red Sox system beats me. The Sox have Dustin Pedroia at 2nd base and Pablo Sandoval at 3rd, plus an overload in the outfield. This could be a "keep away from the Yankees" type of move, because reports suggest that this kid could develop into a player the caliber of Robinson Cano. But, hey, if the Red Sox can make it work, this kid can take them far.
