It was a night to remember. A night when Fenway Park was filled with electricity and excitement; a feeling all to unfamiliar this season.
Last night, Pedro Martinez received the greatest honor (outside his Hall of Fame induction) a player could receive - his number retired and cemented alongside some of the greatest Red Sox players to ever grace Fenway Park.
And he deserves it.
The most dominating pitcher between 1998-2004, Martinez was the heart of Boston and we loved him for it! Thanks again, Pedro.
It was great to see Pedro throw out the first pitch to his partner in crime Jason Varitek. I had flashbacks to when Martinez would throw high and tight to remind his fellow compadres that crowding the plate could end in a hospital visit.
