Armed once again with his sinker, Rick Porcello fired seven shutout innings as the Red Sox blanked the White Sox 3-0 at U.S. Cellular Field on Wednesday night.

Porcello, making his first start since returning from the disabled list, scattered five hits and didn't walk a batter while striking out five. It was his first scoreless appearance since early May.

Travis Shaw's two-run home run in the top of the eighth inning, his seventh long-ball of the year, put Boston up 2-0. Josh Rutledge drove in the third Red Sox run with a sacrifice fly in the ninth.

Junichi Tazawa notched his third save of the year.
