Mookie Betts hit a pair of home runs and the Boston bullpen tossed five shutout innings as the Red Sox outlasted the Yankees 9-5 in eleven innings at Yankee Stadium on Wednesday night.

Boston scored four times in the top of the eleventh. Deven Marrero drove in one with an RBI single, Jackie Bradley Jr. add a sacrifice fly, and Betts' second home run of the night drove in two more.

Travis Shaw gave Boston a 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning with his thirteenth home run of the year; it came with Xander Bogaerts and David Ortiz on board.

New York got a run back in the second before the Red Sox added a run in the third on an RBI single by Ortiz.

The Yankees tied the game with three in the fifth off Boston starter Wade Miley and took a 5-4 lead in the sixth on a solo home run by Alex Rodriguez.

Betts tied the game in the seventh on a two-out home run off Dellin Betances.
