The Royals hit a pair of home runs in the first inning off Red Sox starting pitcher Steven Wright as Boston fell 6-3 in the opening game of their three-game weekend series against Kansas City at Fenway Park.

The issues weren't Wright's alone, by the way. The offense left twelve men on base in Boston's third straight loss.

Wright (pictured) went six innings, allowing those five first-inning runs. He gave up seven hits and walked three as his record fell to 13-6.

Wasted in the loss were five-for-five and four-for-four performances by Mookie Betts and Dustin Pedroia respectively.

Xander Bogaerts also had three hits in the loss.
