Recap - Chavis shines in the 10th

Rookie Michael Chavis delivered an RBI single in the bottom of the tenth inning scoring Xander Bogaerts as the Red Sox defeated the Rockies 6-5 Wednesday night at Fenway Park.

Boston had taken a 5-0 lead after three innings before the Rockies tied the game in the seventh.

J.D. Martinez drove in three Boston runs with a single and his ninth home run of the year. Mookie Betts also singled home a run.

Betts led the offense with three hits followed by Andrew Benintendi, Martinez, Chavis, and Christian Vazquez with two apiece.

Eduardo Rodriguez started for the Red Sox and was charged with all five Colorado runs over six innings. He allowed nine hits and a walk while striking out ten.

The Red Sox are off on Thursday with the Houston Astros coming in for a three-game weekend series.
