The bottom of the ninth inning was just ugly.
A Rafael Devers (pictured) error at third base was followed two batters later by a Nicky Delmonico three-run walk-off homer off Ryan Brasier as the Red Sox lost 6-4 to the White Sox Thursday night in the opener of a seven-game road trip.
David Price started for Boston and went six innings. He was charged with three Chicago runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out five.
Mookie Betts and J.D. Martinez each had three hits - Betts now has his average up to .303 - and Andrew Benintendi slammed his third home run of the season in the loss.
