So what if it's only the Orioles?
The Red Sox completed their first series sweep in nearly a month with a 6-2 win over Baltimore on Sunday afternoon at Fenway Park.
Boston's last sweep was July 19, 21, 26 against the Blue Jays (the game on the 20th had been rained out and played six days later).
The Red Sox put up three runs in the bottom of the first and sixth innings highlighted by a 3-run homer from JD Martinez in the opening frame.
Eduardo Rodriguez earned his ninth win of the season with six strong innings of work. He allowed just one unearned run on three hits while striking out six and walking three.
Adam Ottavino left the game in the seventh inning after taking a line drive off his left shoulder. The initial diagnosis was a shoulder contusion.
Kike Hernandez and Kyle Schwarber each had two hits for Boston.
During the game, the team announced that it had claimed infielder Travis Shaw off waivers from the Brewers. Shaw played with Boston in 2015 and 2016.
