Ryan Dempster, John Lackey to start next week
Spring training is in full swing and the Red Sox have been piecing together
their starting rotation for the upcoming exhibition games. On Friday manager John
Farrell released the projected pitching plans - including starters and relievers
- for games played thru Thursday (find Saturday thru Monday’s rotation here).
Tuesday vs. Cardinals:
Ryan Dempster (2 innings) followed by Junichi Tazawa, Joel Hanrahan, Andrew
Bailey and Andrew Miller.
Wednesday at Orioles:
Franklin Morales (1 inning) followed by Drake Britton (3 innings), Koji Uehara,
Chris Carpenter, Daniel Bard, Anthony Carter and Pedro Beato.
Thursday at Pirates:
John Lackey (2 innings), Chris Hernandez, Clayton Mortensen, Terry Doyle, Oscar
Villareal, Alex Wilson and Jose De La Torre.
Ryan Dempster and John Lackey are two of the more intriguing pitchers to
watch this week. Dempster will be pitching for the first time as a member of
the Red Sox, and vying for the fourth position within the starting rotation.
Lackey, on the other hand, will be making his second start and looking to build
upon today’s performance.
