Red Sox Nation is certainly no fan of New York Yankee Alex Rodriguez, but one media member went a little too far when speaking of A-Rod's beef with Major League Baseball over his 211-game suspension for allegedly using performance-enhancing drugs.
Baseball Hall of Famer, former Boston Globe baseball scribe and current MLB Network analyst Peter Gammons took the A-Rod scandal to new levels Thursday when he compared Rodriguez to the Boston Marathon bombers.
Gammons was a guest on Mike Lupica's ESPN Radio show and said Rodriguez "wants to blow up the world. You know, he's like the marathon bombers. It's just, he's going to get them."
Gammons later apologized via Twitter for his remarks:
Rodriguez is a lot of things - a cheat, a liar, a fraud - but he's not a terrorist. The apology for misguided hyperbole is nice, however, it's not A-Rod that Gammons should be apologizing to.

@dianagram @SI_ExtraMustard Stupidly worded comp of blowing up a process. He is owed, and gets my apology for mispeaking
