Rookie pitcher Anthony Ranaudo struggled, allowing three home runs in a 4-1 Baltimore Orioles win over the Red Sox at Fenway Park on Tuesday night.
Ranaudo was pulled with one out in the fourth inning after just 67 pitches. He was charged with all four Orioles runs on six hits and two walks while striking out a pair.
Boston's offense was held in check (I know, shocking, right?) by five Orioles pitchers who combined to scatter eight hits. Daniel Nava and Xander Bogaerts each had a pair of hits including the X-Man's tenth home run of the season for the only Red Sox run.
Red Sox rookie pitcher Matt Barnes came out of the bullpen and threw three shutout innings in his MLB debut.
