Recap - Sox swept away by Pirates

The Pittsburgh Pirates completed a three-game sweep of the Red Sox with a 3-2 win over Boston on Thursday night at PNC Park.

Brandon Workman (pictured) absorbed the loss, charged with all three Pirate runs (two earned) on seven hits and three walks over five innings. He struck out six.

Pittsburgh scored single runs in the first, fourth and fifth innings.

The Red Sox scored one run in the third on an RBI single by Mookie Betts; the second Boston run on a sacrifice fly by Xander Bogaerts in the eighth.
