Yep, you heard right. The Miami Marlins organization has discussed Mike Napoli internally and could enter the mix for Nap at the right price, according to NESN via baseball insider Ken Rosenthal. Napoli has already said that he wants to re-sign here, but is testing the market because he wants a multi-year deal. The Mariners have already made their interest known, so this adds to the intrigue surrounding Napoli's future. Both sides have made it clear that they want Napoli to stay in Boston, but it is unclear how all of this affects Napoli's asking price.

...with #Marlins catcher Jeff Mathis. Is signing of Napoli likely? Not if he has better options. But Marlins could play on certain FAs.

Will Napoli really sign with Miami? Not likely, but the Marlins now being in the mix could drive up the asking price for the Red Sox. The Rockies have also shown some interest in Napoli, so the race for his signature could get very interesting should Ben Cherington fails to act soon.
